Social events

On Monday, 3 July the organizers are going to welcome the guests with a musical concert, which will take place shortly after the reception.
The conference banquet will be on Thursday evening, July 6th, in the gardens of the Archeological Museum.
Cracow offers an unforgettable atmosphere of old streets, buildings, churches, monuments dating from the Middle Ages, and many snug cafes popular with foreign tourists.
We recommend three optional excursions for Wednesday afternoon, the day which is free of scientific sessions:

  • The first excursion offers sightseeing in the most famous district in Cracow- The Old Town. During the four-hour walk you will have an opportunity to see the Wawel Castle, Barbakan, The Main Market Square, a few famous churches and old streets.
  • The The Jewish Quarter is the second most popular tourists' destination, so the next tour will be devoted to this site. You will visit the old Synagogue, the Jewish cemetery, the Szeroka Street and finally take a rest at cosy restaurants in the New Square.
  • Situated 10 km east of Cracow, The Wieliczka Salt Mine is an impressive tourist destination which should be mostly recommended for Cracow visitors. It will definitely remain etched in your memory. We encourage all our guests to spend an afternoon in this famous place and go on a trip over 100 m underground. It is worth mentioning that in 1978 the Wieliczka Salt Mine was accepted into the UNESCO's World List of Cultural and Natural Heritage together with 11 other sites from all over the world.

The cost of the above-mentioned trips is 10, 16 and 30 euros per person respectively. The cost includes the guides, transport and admission tickets. There is a need for at least 15 participants willing to take part in each excursion to come into effect. The travel agency representative will be present at the conference and can arrange additional social events on request.
